Án Líneáil Airgid – the Silver Lining is a rich vibrant wool painting celebrating a journey through the autumnal silver birch. Rich silks and a variety of wools and stitches evoke the colours and textures of autumn capturing the changing landscape as the mountain gets ready for a slumber, slowing down for winter.
Wools, silks, threads, remnants. This piece is a celebration of the hills from which I come that I came to roam again during lockdown as life took a quieter pace. The silver birch in contrast with the heather and bracken sing to me. There is a wonderful alchemy in the mixture of silks, wool and recycled materials in this piece creating a positive energy.
